Eucharistic Ministers are parishioners invited by the Parish Priest to undertake this ministry. A course of training is followed, usually each autumn, prior to commissioning by the Bishop. Their duties are to help with the distribution of Communion at Mass, to lead Eucharistic Services and to take Communion to the sick or housebound when needed.
There are 50-60 Eucharistic Ministers in this Parish at present. The Parish is divided into four areas, each with a leader and a team. They work closely with the Parish Priest.
